WELCOME!

Dear North Kingstown Parents and Guardians:

I would like to welcome you to the North Kingstown School Department. It is my hope and wish that you and your family will have a valuable school year focused on your child’s academic and social-emotional development that will result in success. It is my goal as the new Superintendent of the North Kingstown Schools to provide transparency, open two-way communication, with a focus on positive student outcomes, and build trusting lasting relationships with our students, families, staff, and the greater North Kingstown Community.  The North Kingstown School Department is known for our high performing schools, academic achievement, and the vast extra-curricular programs that are offered to our students throughout the district.

It is important that we foster strong relationships between our schools and our families. Positive social interactions are key for the success of our students’ academic growth and overall well-being in school. Students need to have a strong connection to their school and strong relationships with their teachers, support staff, and peers. Families play an important role in these relationships. I encourage all parents and guardians to stay actively involved in their child’s education by participating in school events, attending PTO meetings, being a member of the School Improvement Team, or volunteering in the schools. Our schools’ culture is created by the involvement and support from our families, students, staff, and community members.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions. On behalf of the North Kingstown School Department I hope your child has a very successful and memorable school year.

In Partnership,

Kenneth A. Duva, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools
